Namnama Early Childhood
Learning & Feeding Center

Mission

  1. To develop the physical, mental, emotional and social condition of the children in preparation for kindergarten
  2. To provide supplemental nourishment (nutritious snacks & lunch) in order to prevent malnutrition
  3. To teach the children basic health habits
  4. To teach the children simple work habits (putting toys away, gardening, etc.)
  5. To encourage the children to love & fear God & to love other people

Vision

To improve the physical, mental, emotional & spiritual condition of poor, less privileged children (ages 2-5 years old) so they are better prepared & more inclined to continue going to school thus developing their God-given talents to the fullest.


Goals

  1. Initially-3 days/week (Wed., Thurs., Fri.) 9AM-12Noon. Will increase to daily as the Lord provides more funding—one teacher & 2 volunteer mothers for 20-24 children
  2. The teacher will observe in the Dudley Hall preschool & other preschools in the area for at least one week.
  3. Orientation & training of volunteer mothers on an ongoing basis
  4. Activities-see below.  In every activity, it will be a learning process. We pray that there is hope in molding the lives of these precious children.


Daily Activities

9:00-9:15 (15 min.)  Action songs & Prayer

9:15-9:45 (30 min.)

    • Guided exercises and simple work like picking up trash around them & pulling weeds in their vegetable gardens, etc..
    • Sciencing: Learning new things

9:45-10:00 (15 min.) Snack time

10:00-10:15 (15 min.) Rest, sleep & quiet moment

10:15-10:45(20 min.) Bible Storytelling & Prayer

10:35-11:00 (25 min.) Simple Education: writing, coloring, ABC blocks, numbers, etc.

11:00-11:10(10 min.) Break, toilet use

11:10-11:30(20 min.) Values or character education

11:30-11:35(5 min.)   Hygiene and hand washing

11:35-12:00(25 min.) Lunch –nutrition education with food they eat, table manners will be taught


Initial Budget
For 26 underprivileged children taught and fed 3 days/week
.

Salary of teacher-P150. /session X 3 days X 4 weeks --------- Php 1, 800.00/mo. (about USD $38/month)

Snacks & Lunch- P25.-30./days X 3 days X 4 weeks ---------- Php 7, 200.00/mo. (about USD $150/month)

Misc. Expenses (supplies, transp. etc) ----------------------------- Php 1, 000.00/ mo. (about USD $21/month)

Total Expenses -------------------------------------------------------------- Php 10,000.00/mo. (about USD $209/month)

As more funds become available, add:

  1. Salary of Project Supervisor & bookkeeper
  2. Increase budget for miscellaneous expenses to add electricity
  3. Add another teacher or increase salary of existing teacher when classes are held daily
